IT'S SENIOR NIGHT! Tonight we will celebrate our Senior Baseball and Track athletes at home. Recognition will take place after the Baseball game. GO TIGERS!

The Higbee Tigers turned in a competitive performance at the Harrisburg meet, with strong efforts across both the boys and girls teams and several athletes earning top-5 finishes and personal bests.
On the girls side, Kiersten Rockett led the way with an outstanding meet. She earned a 2nd place finish in the long jump with another 15 foot jump, while also running a personal best in the 100m. Kylie Sinklear added points in the long jump and triple jump, placing 7th in the triple jump, while Mya Sears recorded a personal best and 8th place finish in the triple jump.
In the sprints, Rockett, Abbigail Henderson, Mya Sears, and Naomi Schlapper competed in the 100m. Schlapper also had a strong showing in the 400m, placing 4th.
The middle-distance group had a solid day, as Mya Sears placed 5th (PB) in the 800m, and Shyanna DeWeese followed with a 6th place finish.
In the relays, the girls 4x100 team of Jayla Schaedel, Sinklear, Henderson, and Rockett placed 5th, continuing to show improvement in handoffs and team chemistry.
In the field events, Mersadiaz Pegelow led the way in javelin with an 8th place finish, while Schaedel followed close behind in 9th. In discus and shot put, DeWeese, Pegelow, & Schaedel all contributed, gaining valuable reps and experience.
On the boys side, Corbin Imhoff had an outstanding meet, placing 4th (PB and SB for team) in the 400m, 5th in the high jump, and earning a 2nd place finish in the triple jump, leading the Tigers with the top boys performance of the day.
In the sprints, Xavier Gabing and Jeremiah Simmons competed in the 100m, while Simmons also added a 7th place finish in the 110m hurdles (PB & SB for team) and competed in the long jump.
Gabing also had a strong performance in the 800m, earning a 6th place finish (PB & SB for the team). In the throws, Jacob Sanderson and Gabing competed in shot put, discus, and javelin, continuing to build experience in multiple events.
(FYI: Seniors and Parents) As a reminder, Senior Night for Track and Baseball will be tomorrow, Thursday the 23rd after the baseball game. Come out to support!

The Higbee Tigers Middle School & High School Track Teams traveled to Carrollton to compete at our annual Conference meet. We had 3 individual conference champions and multiple runner ups! Our teams placed well too!
On the high school girls side, the Lady Tigers were led by an outstanding showing in the long jump, where Kiersten Rockett (1st) and Kylie Sinklear (2nd) finished at the top. Rockett also contributed in the sprints, along with Naomi Schlapper, while Shyanna DeWeese and Abbigail Henderson added strong efforts in the 400m.
In the relays, the girls had a great day across the board. The 4x100 team of Rockett, Henderson, Sinklear, and Jayla Schaedel placed 2nd, while the 4x200 team of Schaedel, Henderson, Sinklear, and Schlapper also earned 2nd place. The 4x400 team of Henderson, Mya Sears, Ayla Griffin, and DeWeese added another 2nd place finish, and the 4x800 team of Sears, Mersadiaz Pegelow, Schlapper, and Griffin competed well in a tough field.
In the field events, Schaedel, Pegelow, and DeWeese competed in shot put, while Pegelow, DeWeese, and Griffin represented Higbee in discus. In the javelin, Schaedel, Pegelow, and Griffin all contributed, with Schaedel leading the group. Schlapper also added a top finish in the high jump.
On the middle school girls side, the Lady Tigers showed great depth and improvement. In the hurdles, Emma Deschu (1st) and Avian Deskin (2nd) led the way with a strong 1-2 finish, while Kadence Sercu also competed well. In the sprints, Deschu, Deskin, and Ridley Hall competed in both the 100m and 200m, with additional efforts from Kenlee Wright. In the 400m, Gracie McAlpin, Deschu, and Deskin all turned in solid performances.
The distance crew was led by Sercu, who placed 4th in the 1600m, while also competing in the 800m. She was joined by Addison Greening and Olivia Boggs in the 800m, while Boggs and Tinsley Vanlandingham also competed in the 1600m.
In relays, the 4x100 team of Hall, Rylee Seidel, Wright, and Vanlandingham placed 3rd, while the 4x400 team of Sercu, Greening, Vanlandingham, and McAlpin earned another 3rd place finish. The 4x200 team of Hall, Greening, Vanlandingham, and McAlpin also competed well.
In field events, McAlpin competed in the high jump, while Hall represented Higbee in the long jump. Seidel also added a placing finish in the triple jump. In the throws, Wright and Seidel competed in both shot put and discus.
On the boys side, Higbee showed strength across distance, relays, and field events. In the distance races, Danny Janssen placed 4th (SB) in the 1600m and went on to win the 300m hurdles (1st, SB). Corbin Imhoff added a 5th place (PB) finish in the 1600m and a 3rd place (PB) finish in the triple jump, while also competing in the long jump and high jump. Aiden Freidin contributed with a 5th place (SB) finish in the 3200m.
In the sprints, Keaton Boyd and Josiah Williams led the high school group, while middle school athletes Justyn Imhoff, Phoenyx Sears, and Isiah Simmons competed in the 100m and 200m. Brayson Harlan led the 400m efforts, with Jackson Dodsworth contributing at the middle school level.
Relay teams were a highlight for the boys. The 4x400 team of Janssen, Jedidiah Williams, Jeremiah Simmons, and Harlan placed 2nd, while the 4x800 team of Boyd, Freidin, Simmons, and Xavier Gabing also earned 2nd place. The 4x100 and 4x200 teams featured Boyd, Williams, Simmons, Gabing, and Freidin, while the middle school group of Imhoff, Simmons, Sears, and Dodsworth competed hard.
In the field events, Jedidiah Williams stood out with a 2nd place finish in discus, while also competing in shot put and javelin. Gabing added a solid effort in shot put, and Jacob Sanderson contributed across the throwing events. At the middle school level, Dodsworth and Sears competed in both shot put and discus. Stockhorst chucked his personal best in discus!
Overall, the Tigers showed great effort, depth, and continued improvement across both the girls and boys programs. With multiple event wins, top finishes, and contributions from athletes in every event group, Higbee continues to build momentum as the season progresses.

The countdown begins Saturday. Join the Higbee Drama Club for e.b. lee's "8 Minutes Left." Tickets are $5 at the door. The door opens at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Higbee Tigers competed at Kirksville High School and put together a solid meet with multiple personal bests, season bests, and scoring performances.
In the sprints, Josiah Williams highlighted the boys with a PR in the 100m, while Xavier Gabing added a PR in the 200m. On the girls side, Jayla Schaedel recorded a PR in the 100m, and the group of Kylie Sinklear, Abbigail Henderson, and Mya Sears all competed consistently.
Danny Janssen led the way with a strong day, earning a 3rd place finish in the 300m hurdles and adding a PR in the 200m. Brayson Harlan turned in a season best in the 400m. On the girls side, Abbigail Henderson scored in the 400m, while Naomi Schlapper and Mya Sears both recorded personal bests.
In the jumps, Janssen added a points finish in long jump, while Brayson Harlan recorded a PR. Kylie Sinklear led the girls and also scored in the triple jump.
The throws group had a strong showing. Jedidiah Williams led the way with a 4th place finish in discus and a 7th place finish in shot put, while also adding a PR in javelin. Jacob Sanderson and Josiah Williams contributed across multiple throwing events.
On the girls side, Shyanna DeWeese, Ayla Griffin, and Mersadiaz Pegelow competed well in discus, with all three contributing solid finishes. The same group, along with Jayla Schaedel and Naomi Schlapper, added depth in the javelin, while Pegelow also led the way in shot put.
The boys 4x100 relay team had a strong performance, running a season best and placing 4th to add team points.
Overall, it was a well-rounded meet with contributions across the board. The team is prepped for our Conference meet next Tuesday!

The 6th grade students studies mosaics and stained glass windows in December. We finally got to try glass blowing with jolly ranchers. Safety was a priority!









Second grade had so much fun today exploring different materials! It was such a fun and hands-on way to learn 🧪✨










The Tigers lost to Christian Fellowship 3-7 this evening.

The Higbee Junior High Tigers traveled to Harrisburg tonight for a big meet!
Emma Deschu led the way for the Tigers, scoring in both the 100m (7th) and 100m hurdles (4th). Emma also showed great toughness, having to run the 100m twice due to timing issues. She handled it well and continues to show a ton of potential. Avian Deskin added points in the hurdles as well, finishing 7th, while Kadence Sercu earned a point in the 1600m with a personal best performance.
A big highlight of the night came from the girls 4x200 relay team, who broke the school record with a great team effort. The girls relay groups continue to improve and push the standard higher each meet. Congratulations Emma, Ridley, Ely, & Avian!
Another exciting moment came in the pole vault, where Isiah Simmons beat Imhoff's school record by under an inch. Both athletes continue to push each other and raise the bar—literally. Congrats Isiah!
On the boys side, Jackson Dodsworth picked up a point in shot put while competing in multiple events, and athletes like Justyn Imhoff, Phoenyx Sears, and others continue to gain valuable experience in a competitive field.
In the field events, Talon Stockhorst and Nico both set personal bests in there events! Rylee Seidel and Kenlee Wright competed hard! Rylee logged out first triple jump mark of the season with a great jump. Gracie McAlpin added a solid performance in the high jump.
Relay teams brought great energy throughout the meet, with the girls 4x200 and 4x800 both scoring points, and all relay groups continuing to improve.
Overall, it was a great night at a big meet in Harrisburg. The Tigers competed hard, set records, and continue to take big steps forward each week.

The Higbee Tigers traveled to the Truman State High School Invite and competed in a large, competitive field, coming away with several strong performances, personal bests, and a historic moment for the program.
Leading the way was Danny Janssen, who had an outstanding meet with a 3rd place finish in the 3200m, a 4th place finish in the 1600m (season best), a 6th place finish in the 300m hurdles, and a 7th place finish in long jump (PR). Danny continues to be a consistent leader for the Tigers across multiple events.
In the field events, Kylie Sinklear had a great day, finishing 7th in long jump with a PR and 6th in triple jump, while Corbin Imhoff added a 7th place finish in high jump.
A historic moment came in the pole vault as Naomi Schlapper cleared 1.70m, placing 5th and becoming the first high school girl in program history to clear a bar in pole vault, setting a new school record.
The throwing crew continued to compete hard, led by Jedidiah Williams, who placed 8th in discus and 9th in shot put. Mersadiaz Pegelow added a 9th place finish in javelin (PR), while Shyanna DeWeese had a strong throw in discus with a personal best.
On the track, the sprint group battled in a deep field, with multiple athletes gaining valuable experience. The boys 4x100 relay team placed 6th, continuing to improve each meet.
Additional contributions came from athletes including Jeremiah Simmons, Xavier Gabing, Keaton Boyd, Josiah Williams, Abbigail Henderson, Mya Sears, and others, all competing hard and continuing to develop throughout the season.
Overall, it was a strong showing at one of the biggest meets of the year. The Tigers continue to improve, compete, and make history along the way.
