Our Future Health Professions Club hosted a very successful blood drive yesterday with the help of the Higbee Senior Center. We collected 26 units of blood! Thank you to everyone that helped and participated in the drive!

Higbee FFA had a great time at Barnwarming on Friday! We enjoyed a night filled with good food, line dancing, and even better company! It was a great opportunity for us to make memories and enjoy time with friends!

High school cross country competed in Vandalia this morning at the class 1, district 3 meet. Both runners performed well, with Emma Deschu punching her ticket to the state championship meet at Gans creek next week with a career-best 23:25 finish! Go Tigers!!!

It's been a busy start to the year for Higbee FBLA! Did you know that our Chapter is nearing 50% HS participation (active membership!) for the 26-27 school year? INCREDIBLE! 🤩 FBLA offers the opportunity for members to work on their teamwork, leadership,and effective communication skills, as well as making community service/giving back a priority in their life. The Oak provided a plant tour for our FBLA members and Leadership class today. Students were able to see manufacturing processes, they learned about sourcing, quality standards, and local jobs here in Higbee. The Oak supports the Higbee R-VIII district in many ways and we thank them for all that they continue to do for our Tigers!

Higbee R-VIII is excited to implement School Flex beginning January 2027. This program will give qualified high school seniors the option of working at a part-time job for half days. Please email jmeffert@higbeeschool.com if you are interested in hiring a student worker or you would like more information about this program. We enthusiastically hope this will benefit both students and community businesses!
