Our Lady Tigers brought the heat in Glasgow yesterday with strong performances across the board! Higbee Girls placed 3rd out of 14 teams at this meet!💪🔥 From sprint lanes to jumping pits, the girls showed grit, teamwork, and Tiger pride! Here’s a look at the highlights:
🏃♀️ Sprints & Hurdles
• 100m Dash – Natalie Ritter placed 18th (15.52)
• 200m Dash – Raegan Derboven 2nd place! (29.48), Jayla Schaedel 11th place (35.23)
• 400m Dash – Kiersten Rockett 3rd (1:08.36) with a new Personal Record!
• 100m Hurdles – Joey Westfall 4th (20.28), Jayla Schaedel 7th (29.68)
• 300m Hurdles – Joey Westfall 2nd place! (53.88)
Field Events
• Long Jump – Kiersten Rockett 3rd Place (14 feet 3.25 inches)
• Triple Jump - Raegan Derboven 3rd Place with a Season's best of (31 feet 5 inches)
• High Jump – 🥇Ronnie Welch takes 1st place with a jump of 1.52m!
• Javelin - Ayla Griffin hoped in and threw for the first time ever! Marked a throw of 27 feet.
• Shot Put - Shyanna DeWeese set a new Personal Record with a chuck of over 20 feet to place 13th. Jayla Schaedel marked a throw over 17 feet.
• Discus - Shyanna DeWeese placed 14th with a 56 foot throw and Taylor Perkins set a big PR of over 40 feet!
🤝 Relays
• 4x100m – Natalie Ritter, Joey Westfall, Kiersten Rockett, Raegan Derboven – 3rd place (56.32) with a Season's Best Time!
• 4x200m – Joey Westfall, Kiersten Rockett, Ronnie Welch, Raegan Derboven – 3rd place (1:57.11) with a Season's Best Time!
The Boys showed out tonight! We placed 8th out of 15 schools. Outstanding performances across the board! Excited to see what Saturday brings.

• 400m Dash – Aaron Welch 2nd Place (54.53) CRUSHING the previous school record! Brayson Harlan 6th Place (56.88) setting his new personal best!

- Congrats to Aaron Welch for going 3/3 on school records today! (1 individual/2 relay)
- Congrats to Danny Janssen for going 4/4 today on school records (2 individual/2 relay) today!
• 300m Hurdles – Danny Janssen Placed 1st 🥇(45.14) bettering his own School Record time!
Field Events
• Triple Jump - Danny Janssen became the first Higbee athlete ever to jump over 40 feet with a jump of 12.26 meters to place 5th!
• Long Jump – Gavin Snell (14 feet 5 inches) placed 16th
• Shot Put - Aiden Freidin (14 feet 2 inches) placed 20th
• Discus - Aiden Freidin (36 feet 6 inches) placed 25th
🤝 Relays
(Gavin Snell stepped up big today with massive personal best splits of 2:37 in the 800 and 62 in the 400 as an alternate!)
• 4x400m – (Brayson Harlon, Gavin Snell, Aaron Welch, Danny Janssen) placed 4th with a new school record of 3:50.50.
• 4x800m – (Brayson Harlon, Gavin Snell, Aaron Welch, Danny Janssen) placed 3rd with a huge school record of 9:27.72.
- Both relays are looking prime for some great races Saturday at Districts!

Ms. E's Ag Science II class finished their end of the year projects. They each constructed a Herb Box and today they finished their box by planting fresh herbs in them.


MS Track and Field @ Paris Yesterday
It was a competitive and spirited day for our Higbee Tigers at the recent track meet, with athletes giving their best across a range of events! Here are the highlights from the meet:
Girls Team Achievements:
- 100 Meter Dash: Caylee Davis sprinted to 23rd place with a time of 16.38!
- 200 Meter Dash: Shawnee Starks finished 24th with a time of 34.93, and Kenlee Wright followed closely in 27th place at 37.73.
- 400 Meter Dash: Ava Welch secured 11th place with a time of 1:17.62, while Ridley Hall finished 17th in 1:21.09.
- 1600 Meter Run: Olivia Boggs completed the race in 7:34.93, placing 17th.
- 100 Meter Hurdles: Avian Deskin ran a solid race, finishing 10th with a time of 19.94!
- Relays: The 4x100 Meter Relay team finished 11th at 1:06.23, the 4x200 Meter Relay team placed 12th at 2:16.49, the 4x400 Meter Relay team secured 9th place with a time of 5:35.01, and the 4x800 Meter Relay team finished 8th at 13:34.90!
- High Jump: Ava Welch jumped 1.3m for a 6th place finish, while Kylie Sinklear cleared 1.2m for 12th.
- Long Jump: Kylie Sinklear leaped to 21st with a distance of 3.49m.
- Triple Jump: Rylee Seidel recorded a jump of 7.44m for 19th place, and Mya Sears followed with a jump of 6.47m in 25th.
- Discus: Shawnee Starks threw for 18.27m, finishing 14th, and also competed in the shot put with a throw of 7.44m (19th).
- Shot Put: Kenlee Wright added to the field events with a throw of 6.54m, placing 25th.
Boys Team Achievements:
- 100 Meter Dash: Carter Bartolacci finished strong in 22nd place with a time of 15.29, and Isiah Simmons followed in 24th at 17.16.
- 100 Meter Hurdles: Isiah Simmons ran a time of 22.40, finishing 17th.
- Relays: The 4x100 Meter Relay team finished 12th with a time of 1:09.08.
- High Jump: Carter Bartolacci cleared a height of 1.3m for 16th place.
- Long Jump: Isiah Simmons recorded a jump of 3.12m, finishing 27th.
- Discus: Jackson Dodsworth threw a distance of 17.88m, finishing 23rd, while Talon Stockhorst followed with a throw of 12.64m (27th).
- Shot Put: Jackson Dodsworth also participated in the shot put, finishing 15th with a throw of 9.22m, while Talon Stockhorst recorded a throw of 4.15m (28th).
Overall, our Higbee Tigers showed resilience and determination throughout the meet. Each athlete contributed to the team's spirit and effort, and we’re proud of their performances!

Middle School Track @ Glasgow!
No results have been posted but it was a great day for Higbee! The cold weather didn't stop our athletes from competing well all day.

We are proud to recognize our two outstanding Seniors, Robert and Joey, who were honored at the Moberly Area Technical Center Completer and Awards Ceremony yesterday.
Robert earned his completer's certificate and was awarded the Randy Scott Haak Memorial Automotive Scholarship in recognition of his hard work and dedication over the past two years in the Automotive Technology program.
Joey received multiple honors, including the prestigious Graduation With Distinction, Outstanding CIT Second Year Student, and the Breaking Traditions Award, celebrating her excellence and commitment in the Computer Information Technology program.
Congratulations, Robert and Joey, on your well-deserved recognition. We are proud of your achievements and excited for your future!



Higbee HS Track and Field Recap: Glasgow Varsity Relays 2025 🏆
Here are the highlights from the meet of 24 teams:
Girls Team Achievements:
- 100 Meter Dash: Raegan Derboven sprinted to a commendable 15th place with a time of 14.55!
- 200 Meter Dash: Natalie Ritter showed great effort, finishing 22nd with a time of 33.50!
- 400 Meter Dash: Kiersten Rockett put in a strong performance, placing 11th with a time of 1:11.00.
- 300 Meter Hurdles: Billie Westfall excelled in the hurdles, securing 4th place with a time of 54.69, showcasing her skill and determination.
- 4x100 Meter Relay: Our relay team finished 7th with a solid time of 57.96, highlighting the teamwork and effort of all the runners.
- 4x200 Meter Relay: The team also performed well in this event, finishing 7th with a time of 1:58.99.
- High Jump: Ronnie Welch soared to 4th place, clearing a height of 1.47m with impressive technique!
- Long Jump: Kiersten Rockett jumped to 6th place with a distance of 4.23m, showcasing her versatility as an athlete.
- Discus: Shayanna DeWeese threw for 17.6m, finishing 17th, while Taylor Perkins contributed with a throw of 10.63m, finishing 33rd. Today was Taylor Perkins's first meet of the year! Great to see her back from injury!
- Javelin: Shayanna DeWeese threw 14.41m, finishing 30th, and Taylor Perkins added to her performance with a solid throw of 4.16m, finishing 30th in the shot put.
Boys Team Achievements:
- 100 Meter Dash: Aaron Welch sprinted to a fantastic 5th place with a time of 11.84, showing his speed and determination.
- 200 Meter Dash: Gavin Snell ran a 27.50
- 400 Meter Dash Aaron continued his success, securing 4th place with a time of 56.22 in the 400 Meter Dash. This was a new seasons best for the team.
Brayson Harlan finished 6th at 57.49. We are building speed and depth!
- 800 Meter Run: Jedidiah Williams put in a solid effort, finishing 21st with a time of 2:41.98.
- 1600 Meter Run: Danny Janssen had a great race, finishing 7th with a time of 5:04.50, showcasing his endurance.
- 110 Meter Hurdles: Gavin Snell demonstrated his skills, finishing 9th with a time of 21.73.
- 300 Meter Hurdles: Danny Janssen also excelled, finishing 4th with a time of 45.70, demonstrating strength and resilience.
- 4x100 Meter Relay: Our relay team finished 9th at 55.44, giving it their all.
- 4x200 Meter Relay: The boys finished 10th with a time of 1:43.74.
- Triple Jump: Danny Janssen jumped to 5th place with an impressive distance of 11.79m, adding to his successful day.
- Discus: Jedidiah Williams achieved a throw of 24.62m, finishing 20th.
- Javelin: Cale Nelson finished strong in 10th place with a throw of 34.39m, while Jedidiah Williams added to the total with a 22nd place finish at 27.59m. Cale's throw was the team's season best.
We are excited to continue building on this momentum as we prepare for our upcoming meets.
